Senior Network Architect

Title: Senior Engineer/Architect

Location: Chicago, IL 60606 (Loop)

Length: Full Time

Rate: up to $130 + 20%

Visa: US or GC Only

 

Description:

A Senior Engineer/Architect who will have primary responsibilities managing, designing, supporting and implementing network services for a large, distinguished financial firm. This Engineer/Architect needs to have additional experience with leading large projects with soft skills that include leadership, managing client expectations, project management, and reporting. You will be joining a team that is responsible for a highly available network infrastructure that is designed to meet business objectives and SLAs. 

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide engineering and architecture solutions in the infrastructure space with responsibility for the Systems and/or Network environment
  • Validate and test Architecture and Design solutions to produce detailed engineering specifications with recommended design and vendor technologies
  • Work with project management teams to ensure proper collaboration and timing guidelines for project delivery
  • Configure and install network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Monitor network performance and adhere to configuration policy and standards
  • Provide and demonstrate leadership/guidance during team peer review sessions and steering committees.  
  • Work with the management team to properly select and implement design, policies, procedures, and tools for the Network environment

The successful candidates will benefit from having:

  • 8 Years+ Experience with Nexus infrastructure, ASA-VPNs, Routing & Switching (Enterprise, WAN and Campus)
  • Proven hands-on Network expertise in troubleshooting and design concepts
  • Experience with Global Data Center design and standardization
  • Work within change management policies to ensure proper approvals and change awareness to the Network Infrastructure
  • Extensive experience with capacity planning, disaster recovery, and network security
  • Liaise with vendors for Hardware/software strategy and problem resolutions
  • Experience with Network protocols, scripting/programming configurations, and performance monitoring
  • Ability to perform data and packet capture analysis 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • CCNP or Higher (CCIE)
  • SDN hands-on experience (and concepts) is a plus
  • Source Fire/Firepower hands-on experience is a plus
  • Gigamon/Gigavue hands-on experience is a plus

  • TCP/IP
  • IPv4/6 Routing
  • LAN Switching
  • Routing Protocols: EIGRP (main), OSPF, BGP
  • 802.11 Wireless Management and protocols
  • 802.1x Authentication or ISE
